While we haven’t had much of a winter yet, that doesn’t mean it isn’t coming. Here are a few ways to Protect your pets this winter from The Humane Society.

- Keep Pets Sheltered: Keep indoors. Do not leave outside for any reason.
- Bundle Up, Wipe Down: Wind chill can cause frostbite. Sweaters on pets & short walks are recommended.
- Remove Common Poisons: Clean up any antifreeze immediately as it can be deadly. ROCK SALT also is a danger. Clean feet immediately as it can irritate paw pads and mouth if licked. Call your vet if any concerns.
- Protect Outdoor Animal: If there are outdoor cats, provide shelter, food and water.
Animals looking for warmth might seek shelter on a warm car engine. Prior to starting your car, bang on the hood to
alert animal. - Speak Out: If you see an animal left outside, politely let owner know you’re concerned. If that doesn’t work, contact local animal control or law enforcement.
